Frequently asked questions
How often should I check my HbA1c?
Most people with diabetes check it every three to six months. Your doctor will tell you how often you need it.
Can diabetes be controlled with diet alone?
Some people with early type 2 diabetes can control it with diet, exercise and weight loss. Many need medicines as well. Do not stop medicines without asking your doctor.
I fast during festivals. Is that safe with diabetes?
Talk to your doctor before you fast. Medicines or insulin may need to be changed to avoid dangerously low sugar. Read our diabetes check-up guide.
